Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the Mosel wine/Calmont region
Gästehaus am Calmont is located in the village of Ediger-Eller (sister villages of Ediger and Eller, we’re in Eller), on the right bank of the Mosel river, having the Calmont mountains as a backdrop. There is a paved walking/bike path that runs along the river as it wends its way from village to village. Hiking up the Calmont is a very popular pastime and easily accessible from our guesthouse. The Mosel is world renowned for its wine, and we have plenty of local vintners with wine tastings available. Hosts Brian and Arienne Wakefield strive to make you feel at home and want to come back.
We offer seven rooms: 3 Basic Double, 2 Comfort, 1 Comfort Plus and 1 Apartment
All rooms have a private toilet and shower, have free wireless internet access, flat screen television, hair dryer, and fan. Fresh linens and towels are provided upon arrival . All our rooms and indoor facilities are non-smoking. Continental breakfast is included in the room price.
We are very sorry, but due to other guest's allergies to animals, we do not allow pets in our rooms.
Our breakfast is our own idea of a Continental breakfast, which many guests have called a rich breakfast, includes fresh brötchen, a variety of cheeses and meats, a freshly cooked hard boiled egg, fresh fruit cup, choice of juice, and endless cups of coffee and tea. The majority of our guests love what we do! Breakfast is included in the price of the room. (If you have dietary restrictions or are allergic to certain fruits, please let us know so we can adjust what we do)
We have parking for 5
automobiles on-site but there is unlimited, free parking outside of the hotel for vans and larger vehicles. Please ask about availability to reserve a parking spot for you on our property when you make your reservation.
We have plenty of slots for bicycles, which are protected from the elements with the racks being located under the passageway from the main apartment house to the back guesthouse.

Rooms are given a 'quick clean' every day of your stay.
Bedding and towels are changed every third day of a long stay, unless otherwise asked.
"Brown Bag" Lunch
If you are going out for the day of walking, hiking, biking or climbing, we can offer you Lunch To Go. This would need to be arranged ahead of time so we can make it fresh for you before you head out.
THINGS TO DO
There are so many vintners just here in Ediger-Eller that one weekend won't cover them all! Reisling and Secco are local favorites!
This area is rich in places to go and see including Reichsburg castle in nearby Cochem (there are many other castles not far away) , Kloster Stuben, Geierlay Suspension Bridge and many Roman graveyards dotted around the area. We are situated centrally so many guests do day trips to Beilstein, Cochem, Trier, Bernkastel-kues, Traben Trarbach and return for a good evening's rest and relaxing on our outside terrace.
We are located at the foot of the Eller side of the Calmont mountain, an extremely popular hiking and climbing spot. Guests come from far and wide to enjoy this adventure which you can do on your own, or every Saturday morning April through October you can participate in the Ferrata hiking that starts in Ediger-Eller.
There is so much to do! Hiking the Calmont, cycling along the Mosel from village to village, canoeing, wine tasting or simply walking along the local streets or the river to admire the architecture and enjoy wine or beer along the way.
Like our local wineries, there are so many restaurants here in Ediger-Eller you will find it hard to choose a favorite! Traditional German cuisine abounds!
Wednesday evenings April through October you can join in on canoeing on the Mosel.
